Sexting and Snapchat: Sexting on Snapchat?

Sexting and SnapchatDigital technology exposes us to a lot of things that ease communication and function. It changes the way we think and behave towards one another with applications that bridge social interaction across the globe. For example, Snapchat which was developed by four students in Stanford, lets users take photos and record videos which they can send to a controlled list and for a limited time before it vanishes. It is a photo messaging application where users can also be creative with their snaps by adding text and drawings.

Although Snapchat CEO and co-founder Evan Spiegel kept the app from being classified as “mobile porn”, “sex app” etc…, it has become clear that the key to its growth was sexting. The sexy app got much media coverage because of that before it turned into a household name. Sexting is sending and receiving sexually explicit messages, photos, videos etc. primarily via mobile phones. This act can be a bit tricky but is extremely popular among older teens. Most of the naughty ones do it whether they are dating or in a relationship. Sexting fires up sexual tensions between partners and in some way can even help relationships.

So will the company ever acknowledge that this great social media app is indeed a pretty good tool for sharing intimate snaps? Whether they do or don’t, the growing numbers of users which now include adults or older users know that the app can be used for sexting. And with its latest feature called Memories, it is now possible to save your favorite snaps. There’s even a sub-feature in Memories called “My Eyes Only” for private snaps that you don’t want to share with anyone else and it’s protected with a pincode lock.
