Growing up in Chicago, she witnessed and endured poverty and police violence. These experiences deeply informed her commitment to championing justice, safety, and dignity for sex workers.

When not working on advocacy projects, Phoenix spends time caring for her garden or crocheting.

SWOP is a grassroots social justice organization with chapters across the country. Its work centers on ending violence and stigma toward sex workers through community support, public education, and dedicated advocacy.
