Pineapple Support, the adult industry’s leading mental health nonprofit, will host a free, online support group designed to help performers with ADHD transform their relationship with self-criticism. The six-week support group, “ADHD-Friendly: 30 Days to Befriend Your Inner Critic”, will be led by Pineapple Support therapist Dr. Jena Field, and will begin on Monday, October 6th, at 1pm EST. “Many of us see our inner critic as an enemy to be silenced, but that only reinforces shame and self-doubt,” says Pineapple Support therapist Dr. Jena Field. “This group will reframe the inner critic as a misunderstood ally. Using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Internal Family Systems (IFS), we’ll explore ways to challenge negative self-beliefs, build an inner support system, and access calm and strength when it’s needed most.” Pineapple Support was founded by British performer Leya Tanit in 2018, after a string of losses in the adult industry from depression and other mental illnesses. The organization, a qualified 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization in the United States, has connected over 16,000 adult performers to mental health services, including free and low-cost therapy, counseling, and emotional support. “Performers with ADHD face unique challenges, especially around self-criticism and managing emotions,” says Tanit. “This group offers a supportive, research-backed space to transform those challenges into opportunities for self-compassion and growth.
