I was incredibly lucky to meet up with Jean-Micheal Veen, the company CEO at TES in Cascais, which was without a doubt one of the busiest and best shows to date. I wanted to find out more about how the team had managed to build the company to such dizzying levels so quickly.
It’s unusual for a company to celebrate their 2nd anniversary in such style but the longer I spent chatting with Jean-Micheal, it was easy to understand how and why their fast growth came about.
Why did you start friends2follow and how did you begin your journey?
“Imagine two young Dutch individuals in your board room, on a depressingly rainy day in April. They were full of despair, having lost all their income because the platform they were on decided to remove their profiles. It was without any warning, no prior notice and there was no way to get in touch. As a tech company, it got us thinking that we were the right fit to not only build them a platform, but also to become a new home for all Creators. Especially those out there feeling worried that this might happen to them as well. We wanted to build a safe place where we actively embrace all those Creators, regardless of content, where they can feel secure and encouraged to let their talents shine.”
